Rostov is situated at the mouth of one of the great Russian rivers (the Don), so it comes as no great surprise that its urban landscape is highly diverse - with everything from banya to brick factory, parish school to lazaretto.

Its most unique feature, however, is the swath of orchards running eastward from the banks of the Temernik River. Urban greenery at its (sweet, juicy) finest.
