19. 29th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution (Science) In Soviet times some 380,000 lines of the Kirghiz folk epic, Manas, have been recorded. Before the revolution these poetic tales were preserved only in the memories of the bards. The Kirghiz Branch of the Academy of Sciences is now completing the recording of the third part of the epic.
