                <text>This plan was drawn up 8 years after the first plan of Bakhmut in the collection. There are a number of changes, but among the most significant is the attention paid to the ravines running perpendicular to the Bakhmut River. They are nothing more than squiggly lines on the 1823 edition; here we can see the bridges that allow pedestrians and carriages to make their way along the streets.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;u&gt;Orientation&lt;/u&gt;: east (north is on the left)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;u&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Take Note!&lt;/u&gt; 1) The blacksmith shops remain near the Kharkov road, but the market space for the sale of firewood is no longer marked; 2) The public scales have fallen off the plan; 3) The merchant rows have moved south into the market square.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;u&gt;Does a River Run Through It?&lt;/u&gt; The Bakhmut River (still) runs through the center of town, flowing north.</text>
