Internal maritime trade (внутренное мореходство) is one of the most neglected and - I would argue - most fascinating fields of Russian economic history. This section examines the port-based trade networks of the Black Sea and begins the work (to be continued) of connecting the stories of inland navigation and internal maritime trade networks.
